C4/T5 Swap

I got a '68 Cougar with a 302ci and a 3 speed C4. I am looking into swapping the C4 with a T5 manual. I would appreciate some help. I just want to know if it is possible and what are the pro's and cons.

ive seen it done on mustangs before. its harder to go from an auto to a manual because of the cable and pedal. you will need a flywheel (28oz balance) and clutch assembly. problably a different cross mem, the driveshaft will need to be cut or legthened, and your center concil will have to be modified. i think if you do it you will be happy cause you can get away with a lower rear end gear and still have top end. i have a t5 in my gt mustang with a 3.73 and i can still get to 150 mph with killer low end acceration, and 16-17 mpg.

I installed a T-5 in my 65 fastback. I made my own cable set up and I made my own cross member. Drive shaft didn't matter because I swapped to a 9 inch rear which requires the shaft to be shortened anyways.
