back up lamp switch

I have an 81 f100 with a 4 speed floor shift, any idea where the switch might be located? I dont know the exact tranny.

I looked in my haynes manual but it doesn't say. If it's original, it's a good bet it's on the side of the tranny somewhere. Just get under there and look for wires.

Back up switch should be located on the driver side of the tranny.
I believe it has a purple and a black wire going to it. Then it plugs in to the tranny more towards the top. Usually the male plug is black with red or white femaile.
