Optima batteries are great in my opinion. They are expensive, but are completely sealed, work in any position (even upside down for the careless fourwheeler), and seem to last forever. I had em in my last truck and will be putting them in my current truck as soon as the need arises. I think they're worth the $.

In my opinion , the Optima brand of batteries is the best money can buy ! I am about ready to replace my two in my Excursion with Optima yellow tops for piece of mind.

I have had the same red top optima going from various cars for the past 5 years , and still holds a charge like it was new.

Great Batteries !!!

Yup Optima is good, im getting there 1050cca battery when my current one goes out. I think ther worth the money ($130), but they are supposed to be rated for like ten years or something. Get the optima, great battery.

Yes, your alternator is big enough.

I've used Red Tops and Yellow Tops, and prefer the Yellow Top. The deep cycle has plenty of cranking amps, but way outlasts the starter battery if the battery experiences a few deep discharges (dead battery).
