I'm new to this site. Just registered. My wife's grandfather left us a 1967 F100. The truck is in excellent condition, but needs a few things here and there. I ordered a few parts catalogs and have noticed that many parts are available through '66 and skip '67 and go on to '68. Why is '67 such and odd year? I need the Chrome Trim that runs along the side of the truck. It's not available. There are a number of other parts that I'm running into this same problem with. Anyone know of a way around this? Thanks for the help.
Welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts! If you have a minute check out the Guidelines, it will help you to navigate through and understand FTE. Stick around someone will be by shortly...to answer your question.
We are pleased you have chosen the best source for Fords!
See you on the boards.
Enjoy FTE …..
You will find some parts that fit (and may be close to original) that are listed for different years...One thing to keep in mind about 1967 Ford trucks is that this was a "One Year Only" truck...alot of things are the same for the 67-72, but things like heater controls and the interior door trim for this year are unique. I'm sure if you ask around here, you'll find more than enough help figuring out what will fit from where...I have a 1967 F-250....but there are alot of parts that have been transplanted from other trucks...Good luck with your project and let us know how we can help!
Welcome aboard, tiger. I too have a 67 and as Tim and Unimog said, most of the parts are all interchangable from 67-72. Your best bet is to keep searching wrecking yards and to stay on a constant eBay quest. Be sure and post photos of your truck.

Thanks for the replies. I am sure I will be able to get lots of good info from others on this site. A little about my "new" truck. 2wd, swb, 3sp. auto., 240 inline six, a/c. Light blue color. I don't know how to post pics but if I can figure it out I will. Right now the truck runs great. The first things I need are the trim that runs along the side, and the transmission will jump into reverse by itself. (grrrrrrrrrrr) VERY dangerous. I have to get that fixed ASAP. Other than that the bed has some rusted out spots but I can buy the bed panels to fix that. It has an old piston type a/c compressor and I would like to buy a newer rotary style and replace it if possible. I am a neat freak so I like everything like brand new. I need a stereo. They make new ones to fit the original "hole", but this is one more thing I have seen that is not available for '67. Will the '68-'72 stereo work? I hate to admit it on this site but I am actually a chevy guy. This is my first Ford other than the '52 Ford Customline car that this same grandfather left us. It is also in very good condition. I will start on it when I'm done with the truck. Anyway, I am open to any and all suggestions on the best way to go about making my truck new again. Thanks for the help.
I too have a 1967 F-100. Mine is a 4X4 so it's even harder to find parts for. To my knowledge some of the unique parts that are specific to the 67, and please correct me if I am wrong or leave something out, are: The grill, Heater controls, Door panels, Some emblems including the hood side emblems, the Radio mount in the dash, 67 also did not have side reflectors as did the others, and some moulding is different. The 68 - 72 Radio will NOT work in a 67 dash if it is original. You will need to mutilate your dash or cut a radio dash piece out of a 68 - 72 to weld into your truck. I think that is about it, but not sure. Good luck with your new project.

I also have a '67. In addition to the items already mentioned, I would elaborate on the door panels being different and say that the inside door handles and door arm rests are '67 only. The door panels are the same. Some of the wiring is '67 only. I think the window vent handles are unique, but I could be wrong. The '67 is the only one you could get a 352 engine. As far as the radio issue, I'd recommend not cutting the dash and putting in a headliner that is molded to include the radio as well as speakers.

Much better idea. When cutting the dash it usally gets ugly in a hurry and is hard repair. In the headliner or a neat under dash install is much better and is easy to undo.

Thanks for the advice. Yea since this was "Papaw's" old truck I don't think I'll be cutting the dash. I will probably make a nice looking plate and just cover the hole. The headliner/stereo combo is a good idea and my next question was going to be about a place to mount speakers. Where can I order one of these headliners?
i have a 67' also, sometimes parts are hard to find but i use lmc truck or mac's antique parts, between the two i can find whatever i need, even the rare parts. both cataglogs are free and worth the look.

Yea, I received both of those catalogs and I receive LMC Truck for my Blazer too. They are both pretty good, but the lack of parts for the '67 is still prevalent in both unfortunately.
Tiger9297,
I got my Headliner from JC Witney. I looked to see if any of the Site Sponsors made one and they didn't. I will snap some Pics pretty soon and post them. As far as your original question about trim, the Body Side Trim is unique to '67. It is 1 1/4" wide. All other years are wider. You can get a brand new piece from Dennis Carpenter Reproductions. If you are going to take the Philco Radio out and cover the hole with a plate, consider using something called a Radio Delete Plate. It is a Ford OE Item that was used on trucks ordered without a radio. It screws in from the back and has F-O-R-D on it. They are original stuff, and they look it. Ask your Brothers on this Website if anybody has one or watch e-bay. They show up from time to time.

Thanks for the advice. I have a JC Whitney catalog, but I didn't realize that they sold parts for trucks as old as ours. Especially parts like headliners. I will look when I get home from work. I wonder if Mac's sells the Radio Delete Plate?? I'm at work now and all the fun catalogs are at home so I can't verify. Yes, I know I should be doing this paperwork but I just have to check a few truck websites now and then. It's kind of addicting.
I kind of like the stock look of the original radio so I would leave it in and mount a new stereo in the glove box or under the seat and hide the speakers.
