I have a 2000 regular cab F-350 in the cab & chassis configuration (see my photos...you'll understand... ) Every now and then, I see accessories (such as trailer hitches) for a 2000 F-350 pickup that states it won't fit a 2000 F-350 cab & chassis. So my question is...what are the differences between my F-350 cab & chassis, and any ordinary F-350 SRW pickup?
most cab and chasis are dual wheels. check your wheelbase and see if it is same as a pickup. compare frame with a pickup. possibly different bends or heights. possibly yours had a box removed???? just my thoughts. bill
If I remember the specs correctly, the frame width is wider (different hitches available) and the cab to axle distance is longer. Fuel tank location and size is different also.
The major differences between the two are the frame is narrower, frame is straight after the cab, the distance from the cab to the axle is 56" on a standard truck and 60" on a cab chassis, fuel tank behind axle because of frame width but you can get a 19 gal aux tank mounted midship.
The major differences between the two are the frame is narrower, frame is straight after the cab.

Did you mean the frame is narrower on the regular pickup? Just curious, do you know by how much? Yeah, I did notice that my frame rails are straight, not curved upwards.

The frame rails are narrower on the cab chassis, but I think it starts after the cab mounts, I believe its for all the aftermarket people that build bodies for the trucks, I also believe that Ford Dodge and Chev all use the same width after the cab and they are flat so they are easier to build body's for them.
Thanks for the info on the cab and chassis vs regular truck. I recently purchased a 1993 F350 with the 5.8 v-8 and a 5 speed. It's a regular cab and it only has a bit over 21000 actual miles on it. Truck is extremely clean. It's a little much for what I need but I couldn't pass it up for the price and miles. Currently has some kind of loader mounted on the frame but I intend to remove it and replace it with a flat bed
