electrical demons
It has all started with a dead battery and no start and now I have all kinds electrical demons poping up. Dealer replaced battery and starter to solve problem. Now I have, on again off again, doors that lock and unlock, a remote that works, sometimes, from only 15 feet away and seats that require reprograming all the time. These things happen twice a week and I can only get them to occur away from the dealer. How do I proceed? What else should I look for. My wife drives this mostly and with two small children it is difficult. 2004 EB expedition with 8,000 miles.

Random problems are the most frustrating of all. If the problems are more frequent after sitting overnight, perhaps you can leave the vehicle at the dealership and let them experience an early-morning start for themselves. It really sounds to me like the general electronics module (GEM) is hosed. Perhaps one of our resident mechanics can give a better diagnosis?
