Unhappy 97 F350 Electrical Demons Help!!

Ok well lets start at the beginning of these issues. A few weeks back was comming back down the highway from a job site, when i could feel the loss of power bogging down. I tried to push threw it but the beast just died. Pulled over and tried to crank her back over but just a crank no start.

I ended up having it towed back to the house and went out the next nite to trouble shoot. As soon as I tried to start it up wouldnt start but also wouldnt stop cranking. Turned the key off and took it out but wouldnt stop cranking (idiot move didnt remove the battery cables right away). Ended up draining the batteries and went and charged them the next day.

Threw the batteries back in the next day and I have no power what so ever to the interior or headlights but do have power the exterior bed lights. Turn the key and nothing, no noise at all, no power sounds what so ever. So first conclusion i jump to without testing is ignition switch(this has been the issues in my last Diesel). Now electrical issues are my nightmare. Ive found that the main cable comming off the cylinoid to the under hood fuse box is draining the battery any time the key is turned or the door is opened. Its a massive drain from 12.5 to 2 in seconds.

All fuses and fusible links associated with the cylinoid are good. Any and all help is great guys im not a electrical guy and im stumped lol. I miss my truck BAD. OH and i never use a computer so sorry for the wierd typing my Daughter is helping me.

It is likely the starter and or starter solenoid melted. Also, your batteries could be toast.

Where are you? There might be someone local that can help.

Load test your batteries, going from 12.5 to nothing is almost not possible on a good battery even if your pulling a 1000 amps, you got a bad battery there. Something would be smoking or on fire with that much drain, charge the batteries have them load tested. Your constant crank sounds like the solenoid welded closed, and you also need to check all your fuses in both boxes cranking an engine over till battery death could blow some fuses, get that done first than get back to me and lets go from there
