anybody else's truck feel like you have to keep the accelerator almost to
the floor to run 70. Mine does I think it's a sensor down there, but first
which way do i bend that rod to get more engine response? If that doesn't
improve it I geuss I'll buy a new pedal assembly.
Mine's the same way: A lot of pedal to maintain speed. If I mash the pedal it will pull hard all the way up to the rev limiter and go no faster so I know it's not a problem. I turn on the cruise control ASAP anyway so I never gave it any thought.
If the pedal assembly on your truck is like the ones on the OBS trucks, you bend the tab that comes in contact with the white sensor button, which is the idle validation switch. You'd want to bend the tab up, away from the switch for more throttle response. If you bend it too much, however, you won't be making proper contact with the switch when the pedal is released, and once your engine returns to idle, it won't accelerate at all. There really isn't much adjustment in there.
Yeah, I've done all that and even tried to "clearance" the full throttle limiter at the other end of the sweep for a little more signal to the ECU. The engine responds immediatly as soon as the IVS opens so I don't want to go any further. Don't want a jumpy throttle response. I couldn't feel any difference from before and after so I let sleeping dogs lay as the saying goes.
hmm, so ya think if i did that i wouldnt really notice any difference? I geuss I could
bend the rod, and slightly turn the tps, maybe the combo of modding them 2 would
make a difference. I gotta do something, It has no get up and go, or keep going power. hehe. It does ok with the cruise, but if I was pulling my 800 lb welding trailer
i probably couldnt hit 70 unless I put it to the floor.
