Better milage after replacing CPS?

A couple of tanks of fuel ago I had Ford replace the CPS due to stalling problems, they also did a few other non engine related warranty things while there. Before the sensor failed my milage had dropped as low as 10.3. The console tends to read low when figured out manually. Now that they did that the milage has improved by 1 1/2 - 2 mpg. I thought it was due to warmer weather for a few days but now that it is back down into the low teens the milage is hanging up there.

Has anyone else had this happen? I don't know if the sensor could cause the bad milage or if they did some updates to the computer while it was there, kind of a bonus either way. I have been filling up at the same station all the time and they go through a lot of fuel there and I'm sure it wasn't just a batch of higher cetane fuel. Have not been running any additive in the last three tanks full.

It's not uncommon for a bad CPS to cause your mpg to drop, so replacing one quite often causes an increase in mpg. Does the truck run noticeably better, too?

Didn't notice an improvment in milage when I replaced mine and didn't notice it running any different , mine just refused to start with no warning signs it was going out ! Luckily I was in my own driveway when it happened .

Didn't really notice any difference in the way that it runs, other than it stays running which is kind of nice!

I bought the truck out in Seattle last September and drove it back here to Michigan, ever since we got close to home the milage started dropping off. I figured it was due to the weather getting colder and poor fuel quality here in the midwest which I've heard a lot of stories about. The weather I'm sure is a factor, just getting better now than it was. Kind of curious to see what it does in the warm weather now, see if it's back up in the 15-16 mpg range like it was when I bought it.

I H # 1825899 C93
Ford #F7TZ-12K073-A (C93)
Turbo6 , go to the International dealer and you'll save about 50% on engine parts as opposed to buying them at a Ford dealer . The CPS at I H is about $100 and $200+ at a Ford Dealer !
