My 2001 F350 cab leaks when it rains heavy. It drips from passenger side handle up by the front window. Is this a normal problem for this year? I bought it used 6 months ago, so I don't know much of the history.
I noticed this same problem on my 01 F250 the other day when it rained pretty hard, thought it was just a freak thing until I read your post, guess I'll have to investigate it.
I thought it might be coming in on the top of truck right between the top of front window next to pass. door. I also parked backwards on a hill to where all the roof water went that direction. How is your power windows workin? My pass. side seems to be tempramental in the damp whether.
Remove the interior door panel and check the plastic vapor/liquid barrier that should be installed. It may be torn or have come off the door frame. It is supposed to keep any rain or condensation between the plastic and the metal skin and allow it to drip out through the drain holes in the bottom of the door. Thus keeping the interior dry...
I don't have cab lights on mine, (wish I did) but the water is coming in around the top of the door frame. When I noticed mine leaking it was all over the passenger armrest and above that point, the seat was also a bit splattered from water dripping down. Not sure if this the same problem Ford From Above is having. Haven't noticed any water on the inside from powerwashing or anything though.
Ford from above, I'm not sure about the window, think I've only used it once since I've owned the truck, if there is a problem I'll let you know.
My 97 F250 leaks on the drivers side. Drips from the trim piece between the head liner and the windshield. Already ruled out the hole from the wire feeding the clearance lights. Any Suggestions? How hard is it to get to the bolt holes that hold the exterior sun visor? Anything I should know before I try? If it is the same leak as you guys and you don't have the visor, think it may be the windshield gasket?
I would vote for the visor on yours, I looked seriously at buying one (same year as yours) that had a visor on it and it had rained the night before I test drove it, the salesman apparently wiped all the water off the dash before we got there because the first corner we went around water came pouring out from under the dash all over the floor. Looking around you could see the gap around one of the mounting bolts where the silicone had peeled off.
Check your mounting holes real close, if it's not them, then yes, it would more than likely be leaking around the windshield.
I don't have cab lights either. Very interesting what the grinch had to say for me, because of my window problem too. Thanks guys. I'll try and keep you filled in, but might be a while
