You have a five lug D60? I didn't think Ford put that in anything, just Dodge. For a front axle, it would be a D44 if it's a 4x4, or the twin I-beam if its 4x2.
i have to disaggre on whether u guys think its a nine inch, i have a facts manual that states as an option, the 69 f100's were available with a dana 60-3 limited slip axle which either contained 3.54 or 4.10 gears. also i know the difference between the nine inch and D60's (because i have one of each), but thank you for ur input
Have cut up several Dana 60 semi in old Fords, all were limited slip, all were 3.54 .
1 was a 64, the other 2 were 68 and 69. These diffs were not really much stronger than a 9", if at all. They sure caught my interest when I saw them, Kind of wierd like the Dana 44 rear in the 79 Ford F100s.
About 4 years ago I bought a 1978 ford E-350 4w4 that had TWO front drive lines[one for each side] .Turned out it was an expermental from ford and they only made 20 of them! Could not keep bevel gears from blowing out on the drive hubs. finaly gave up on them and installed a d-44 and different transfercase and sold it. sure wish I had kept the old parts. ford has done some strange stuff!!!
