I did the K-O-E-OFF test came up with 21-24-95-96 i replaced the 2 sensors Airtemp and coolent temp sensor. also the ing.coil, the Hall Effect sensor the ICM module and air intake sensor. i have checked the fuel pump for pressure its fine. I check the ohms on the EGR, TPS, and no luck it jumps a little when i try to start it but it but it just turns over fast. compression is fine in chambers. im thinking Cat-converter but i don't want to drop all to converters and v pipe its one big peice? im changing the fuel regulator tonight sparkplugs a little wet but getting spark. someone told me it might be the timing but i dont think so HELP ?I also hope it not the brain anyone ran into this yet almost all sensors have been replaced "I Need Help Bad"
What do you mean when you say it just turns over real fast? Does it sound like a fast whirring sound from under the hood? Or is the engine actually turning over?
Well I was going to say that if it was just spinning that the starter was the culrpit, but you eliminated that one. Are all of your grounds hooked up on your engine. There are a multitude of them. For instance, there is one that connects to the passengers side of the intake manifold, one that attaches to the drivers side inner fender for the computer, and two that can be spliced together at the battery box. This last one is also a computer ground, I hooked mine together and bought a negative cable with an accessory lead, and just spliced them into that & taped it up.
Let me think for a little while. And I'll look in my Chilton's manual that I am never without!
Is the engine getting any fuel? Have you checked the fuel pump relay? Or the inertia switch under the dash? The inertia switch is located inside the truck under the dash on the firewall, between the kick panel and the brake pedal. There is a small spring loaded pop up button, if that button is up push it down. If it's down then you should have power to your fuel pump relay.
yes i checked the switch its fine i have fuel in the fuel rail and my plugs are wet but i have cleaned them to and tried still no start i checked the pump its pushing fuel at a high volume. Still don't know?
Have you had the distributor out? That could be the cause of it all, Timing. Take your cap off, and roll the engine around to where the rotor is popinting to the number 1 plug terminal on the cap. Then look at your timing marks on the engine. I think by this they should eiter be at Top Dead Center, or at 10 degrees Before Top Dead Center.
Or as it is marked on the timing marks 0 or 10 on the BTDC scale.
Also, was the engine rolled over while the distributor was out? If that is the case then you will have to totally re-time it. By taking out the #1 plug, and rolling the engine up to TDC and starting from there.
I have done all that with timeing 10% and pointing to #1 yes it checks out still no luck see i told you I have tryed everything i don't understand it i have never had this much trouble.
Its a 1989 F150 5.0Lt XLT larate package with 5 speed manuale
I would go buy new plugs. If you have spark and fuel
it should try to run, backfire up through the intake or
something. The only time I've seen an engine just seem
dead and I had fuel and spark is when the plugs are fouled.
He said they were wet. I don't know what it is about plugs
when they get fouled, but no amount of cleaning seems to make
them fire again. I've run an engine with a couple of
fouled plugs before and it has to run at least 10 to 15 min
before they slowly start kicking in and firing.
