collaped hose?

collaped hose?
My upper radiator hose is collapsed on my 3.0. This summer I put a new radiator on and all seemed fine at the time, but cant be certain. Yesterday I noticed the upper hose was collapsed. And it doesnt appear to be circulating through it. Any suggestions? Causes?

Well, it's usually the lower one that collapses as the pump is drawing water through it rather that pushing water into it. Is it overheating? Is it hot to the touch? Did you replace the thermostat, and if so maybe install it backwards? Does is only appear collaped on a cold motor; this would suggest a failing hose, as there is a suction in the system what draws coolant back into the radiator from the burp tank.

Yes after further investigation I have come to the conclusion that it only collapses when cold. Once the engine is warm and running/circulating...the hose if fine. Nope haven't done the tstat,hose or anything else. Backwards?? Its a 3" heater hose....is there such a thing as backwards?
