how long is the rod that comes out of the brake booster stock? i got one from a junk yard for my 84 f-250 and it feels light for about an inch of pedal travel then you can feel the brake start to grab.
how is the brake light switch mounted? i forgot to look at it before i took it off, so i just put it on somehow and it comes on late during braking.
I don't know about the rod length, except it is critical for it to be correct. I do know the brake switch mounts on the pin for the brake pedal, and the pin has some slop designed in to activate the switch. The switch has a strong spring built into it. If you don't have enough force to push against the spring in the switch, it won't activate. If you get your other problem fixed, the brake light problem will go away.
hey mil1ion- your pic of the brake booster pushrod adjustment is wrong, you have a pic of the removal of connectors from a wire harness!
I have a 78 manual that says the pushrod is suppose to be .98-.995 inches long, is that right?
on the carb, how many turns of the idle mixture screws is the base setting?
thanks a lot guys.
Im not sure about that Rod length but do knmow that rod is adjustable you can turn it out to engage the master cylinder but be careful too much length and your rear brakes will drag and that isnt a good thing either so play around with that a biut and see what happens
