My good freind just got a 99 f150 with the "triton" 4.6 2wd. he thinks its hot. dont get me wring its s good ford and all, its maroon red, and got some flowmasters on it, its alright. Then he made the mistake of saying " i'll pull you and your iline 6 in circles". we were jokin around and all, but my friend doesnt know what a camshaft looks like, let alone what it does, so basically he knows nothing about cars or anything, he cant even change his oil. Im guessing we both have about the same amount of torque, but i proudly dont have to much of a torque curve, and he does, but he doesnt know that. I feel confident as hell i can pull him,( hook a chain to our trailer hitches faceing different directions and see whos truck pulls who) and watch his posi slide all over. i got a 88 2wd with 3.08s. we both got street tires.I can pull him right. every one underestimates the 300.
Pah. When your 4.9 has rolled over 300,000 miles, and your friend is on his fourth 4.6, you can smile smugly at him and say, "....So, how's that truck that can pull me in circles?...."
