have you tried out the box yet? and when u made your tensioner you made it solid mounted right, adjustable with a bolt and not using a spring. because it will have to run both directions.

Yeah, how does it perform? I bet Pro and Ivan are checking their bank balances to see if they can do the same.

Ivan, if you fill it with beer, that would take care of the kegerator project.
Course, then it would always be getting emptied and you would run into a lack of lubrication.

I have'nt tried the box yet, I just finished the assembly of the rollling chassis for the 49' & that is the truck the box is going in,

<TABLE class=tborder cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=4 width="100%" align=center border=0><TBODY><TR title="Post 2644404" vAlign=top><TD class=alt1 align=middle width=125>fordman300</TD><TD class=alt2>have you tried out the box yet? and when u made your tensioner you made it solid mounted right, adjustable with a bolt and not using a spring. because it will have to run both directions.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

The tensioner is a spring, it is on the slack side of the chain while traveling forward, if the tensioner was a bolt I think it would put a lot of pressure on the side of the box while in reverse, as it is now it will push the spring back, & allow the slack on the other side, I'll just have to keep that in mind & not get to rough while in reverse, with the ratios I'll be runnin most of the time I will not even need the tensioner,

Saurian, I bet it would be cheaper to go with an SCS gear drop box, I just wanted to build my own, (you can still send the money though )

or you could run one on both sides but then you would have slop both ditrections. O r maybe run a softer spring on the reverse side so the forward side over comes it until u applie pressure in reverse
