I have had my 2001 E350 Passenger van in and out of the dealer shop for the past two weeks. They have been charging me an arm and a leg (even though it is still under warranty), trying to find out why my engine keeps reving like a pig when it is idling.
It has cost me over $400 so far and they still can't find the problem. I read somewhere where someone had the same problem and finally found out what it was. Would you please let me know???????? Thanks

In the V-10 forum you may find more help for your problem, but here goes; Idling is affected by the IAC, idle air control, the MAF, along with, among other things the mass air flow (meter). Normally the IAC is the culprit in idle problems, but you could have a bad coil, dirty MAF wires, shorted, or shorting out plug/coil boots, bad gas, a bad fuel filter, I could go on forever, but check the IAC. It's tubular shaped, has an electric motor inside, double the size of a roll of quarters or so, good luck, Ken
SORRY, I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT IT IS A DIESEL. It also has cruise control.
Please help, my Ford dealership can't find the problem and has given up on me???
They actually suggested that I take it to another dealership. Unbelievable!!!
Any more suggestions??

Whoopsie, a small detail, being a diesel. The FTE power stroke forum is another great source of info for troubled oil burner guys, try there also. I will bet you get someone over there who can diagnos your problem. I habg out over there sometimes just so I will be able to tell what the difference between good and evil is, ha ha. I love my V-10, I can go through a drive-up window and order, with the engine running, it's cool. Wink-wink, nod-nod, Ken
