went to start my truck the other day in the morning. when I let it warm it off for a while.It smelled rich and ran poorly for A while til, I ran it a while on the road then it cleared up. reved up smoothly after that.
Sounds like a bad case of carb icing. The moisture in the air freezes in the air bleeds and causes a really rich condition. After the engine warms up and the thermostat opens the warm air from the radiator thaws out the air bleeds and all is normal again. Usually the problem is a missing or non-functioning hot air system on the stock air cleaner.
