carb question

I have a ford 302 with a Holley 4bbl carb. My engine runs fine and i have no problems. A friend of mine just installed a ford 302 and an Edelbrock 4bbl carb and i can tell a big difference in how the engine performs.
In my engine, when i step on the gas i get plenty of power and acceleration. When my friend steps on the gas in his truck you can literally feel all 4 barrels open up.

Is mine adjusted wrong or working improperly causing me to lose that kick? If so what can i do to fix it?

Thanks

Hi,

Well first off are the engines built to the same specs? I mean is your frends engine up graded from stock? You can't compare 2 engines unless they are made up the same.

If you really think it's the carb causing your problem then just swap them for a test. Quick and easy way to find out.

From what Ive heard/read Edel's usually have a smooth transition from priamries only to secondaries opening, and mine is that way too, I cant feel it (any sudden kick) when my secondaries kick in (I can sure hear it though, it sounds different)

If both trucks are running great, and your both happy, then great, just for kicks, swap carbs and go for test drives and find out......My guess would be if both are tuned properly you'll see little to no difference

Hey Lee, come down to the bottom of the forums page and join us in the Northwest forum sometime
