I just had a Gold remote installed in my 2000 Ford F-350 Diesel at my local Dealer. There is a option called Qucik Stop that I wanted to use as a Turbo cooler( It runs the vehicle fo 10 Min.then shuts down) The dealer said that he needs a tach sense input. I was told that the 2000 does not have ths connection my friend told me that I could pick this up on the injector harness. The ford dealer said that lead is 118 volts AC and the tack sensor input is looking for a 12v input any ideas if there is a converter or where else I find the tach sense input ????
I just had a Viper alarm/remote start put in on sunday that has the turbo timer feature also. I can look to see if the schematic I have can help you locate the wire you are looking for. I also have a friend that installs these things for a living (he did mine) I could check with him to see if he can get schematic or has ideas.
The tach wire is white/pink stripe. It can be found at the powertrain control module and can be also be located in the main harness that runs through and along firewall to left of brake pedal. I just installed remote starter in my truck seems to work well.
Just find the wire in the bundle of wires that come in through firewall behind the brake pedal. There is a plastic cover overtop of the bundle for about 4-5 inches up the firewall, the wires then head up under the dash. They are taped up fairly tight but the tach wire was easy to find and pull out enough slack to tap into it.
Hope this helps.
Yes thats right. Sorry for the delayed response but we were just dumped on by old man winter, so I had to remove some snow today. We rec'd about 8 inches of wonderful white stuff. That's exactly what I was going to say, Thanks Mopey!
