sloppy steering

Anyone know which bushings should be replaced to correct the play in the steering wheel of a 1988, 2wd, pwr steering, F150? Any sources?

There's no way to know without inspecting the suspension and steering systems. It's time to use the four P's, push, pull, pry and prod on everything under there to find the slack. Likely points of wear would be tie rod ends, steering box and the coupling on the column to the steering box.

Raise the front end safely such that the front wheels are suspended so that you can wiggle around on everything until you find the culprits.

Good luck,

First guess would be tie rod ends. The steering box and the knuckle of the steering column are possible candidates but not as likely. I just replaced my tie rod ends the other day because they were shot and my steering is nice and tight again.

you might have play in the steering box which can be adjusted with the set screw on top. but definatly check tie rods first
