squeaky front end!
I know this topic has been done to death because I have read them all! I have a 99 ranger 4x4 that has a very load squeak coming from the driver side wheel well. I greased up the ball joints with a needle. no luck. I am however going to replace all 4 ball joints when I time ( they are bad). The sound sounds like it 's coming from the cv joints or that general area. is that possible? I've read that it could be pitman arm, sway bar, tie rod am I missing anything? If there is a way to be sure where this squeak is coming from I would be VERY happy. The noise happens over bumps, at a stand still when I jump on the truck, and when I turn and even when I slam the door.

I hate to state the obvious, but I will. Crawl under it and have someone bounce it up and down and see if you can locate the squeak.
Include the front shock to your list, they sometimes squeak as well..

I took the wheel off to get a better look at everything and I found it has to be my lower ball joint. the boot is torn open (not good). anyway I continued to take the caliper off, the roter, the upper ball joint bolt, the lower ball joint nut. Now I can't figure out how to get them off the spindle. Do the 3 bolts holding it to the hub have to come off. What am I missing? I have read pretty much every thread on this but I still can't get it! I also had the truck jacked up on the lower control arm.
