...also, what about a boxed sheet metal dash similar to a nascar truck style?? with the gauges mounted here and there, like a monster tach mounted flush in the metal? THAT would be different

The only Chebby parts that mildly even deserve a place in Fords are the distributors (as modified by Performance Distributor) and MAYBE calipers for the rear end. The Great Mistake Co.'s dashes are pretty ugly, anyway. I am modifying my 84 FORD dash with a gauge surround from a 78 Effie, with VDO electric gauges set in the stock resting areas. It looks pretty sweet.

You'll probably have interference with your door panels unless you do them too. I know because I use '92-97 door panels with my '83 dash.
