I was driving home today and i was listening to a cd and all the sudden i heard a poping noise and my music went off. I tryed to restart the song, then turned to FM, then turned it off and back on... but nothing worked. I took the head out to see if anything came undone, but all the connectors were intact. i checked all fuses, and all were good. I have a 2000 Eddie Bauer Explorer. I put headphones into the rear seat reciever, and nothing could be heard. This sucks. If anyone knows any possible sollutions please help. if my radio doesn't work i might drive my car into a lake, because it is no good.

Fisrt thing I would look for is a blown fuse. Hopefully that is all it is. If you cannot find a problem there, pull the radio, get an V/O meter and a wiring diagram and start checking for voltage at the plug. Did anything else stop working in the vehicle when this happened??
I have a 96 Explorer Sport and the stereo has just begun to act up. My display lights will go off. When this happens, I cannot change stations. Tapping the radio face a few times gets the display to come back. I my case, I know this is indicitive of something being loose or crack internally and it will eventually fail. I am interested to know what you problem turns out to be.
