bullet connector sizes?

What size bullet connectors are used commonly in old Ford vehicles (circa late 60s and early 70s)?

All I see at the autoparts stores is .157 inch (14-16 AWG) but they are too small to plug into the wiring harnes on my 72 F250.

I am trying to plug my tach into an unused female connector to get the 12v feed for lighting.

Thanks.

I don't know what you need. The trouble with big manufacturers like Ford is they are so big, they can go to a vendor and get something custom made for them cheap because they order so many. I guess that's why cars and trucks are so full of oddball sized and shaped nuts and bolts and electrical connectors. I know much of the male connections under the hood are actually screw studs, so you might want to try a small screw inserted in the hole with a nut holding a ring connector on the head for the wiring connection.

thanks

I have found a 3 way (female bullet) connector that is used to feed voltage to the radio and something else. It has one hole open that I would like to plug into for voltage to my tach.

The standard .157 diameter bullet connectors, found in all auto parts shops, is just too small.

The size I need is similar to what you see on a flat 4 way trailer connector, I think, although it might be a little smaller.

[Adding to this, because DDG search brought me to it, 20 years later]

Old Ford & trailer "flat-four" bullet connectors are ~.180" nominal, aka "4.7mm" (sorta). The typical size you'll find at a FLAPS is .157" (4mm)

I bought a bunch last year for my '73 F600, and I kept my notes.

Bullet Connector, Male, (50), Molex 19033-0005, .180”, uninsulated, .298 ea.

Bullet Connector, Female, (50), Molex 19037-0006, .180”, uninsulated, .171 ea.
