yah I've always known that we could, I just never seen anybody do it.
I'm not saying people are disrespectful where you are, but I think that's why folks fly it lower over here.

we can fold our flag in a triangle too.

nah, i didn't think you were meaning it that way. we're just proud of it i guess ... ive never seen it lower than the us flag. i didn't know it was an optional thing, i thought it was flown the same height all over. learn something new every day!

shyguy, we dont care if ya have one right now, you're on here and that's good enough. we might be able to help ya find one too. i know i've got one i'm thinking of selling but haven't decided yet cuz it's not in great shape. either way, you're welcome to stop into the tx chapter and drop into the roll call thread...

In Canada it is normal protocol to make sure the Canadian Flag is flown the highest (when other flags are flown with it).

Me, I don't fly the Canadian Flag that most people know,I fly the Canadian Red Ensign the highest.

Where you planning on settling in Texas KT? If it's around Houston, let me know...I know the owner of a Ford dealership in Huntsville and he could probably use you.

Sunny and 80 here today

One thing no one's mentioned about Texas...the sales tax - what is it now??? Back in the mid-late 80's it was 7.5%.

Oh yeah...I loved it there too! Went through basic at Lackland AFB (San Antonio) in Sep 80, then was stationed there from 86-88. The only thing wrong with Texas is...it's too far from Kentucky

Wouldn't mind moving back there someday myself...

Yep..that NO state income tax goes a LONG way! Kentucky's sales tax is only 6% but the state income tax is ridiculous! And the state government (like the Federal government) can't seem to find a way to spend our money efficiently

78,
I have to disagree with you....
they BOTH are VERY efficient with spending our money...
there is no wasted effort - it is gone in a heartbeat !!!

But have to agree with the nice weather report the last few days...
it's crystal clear and about a PERFECT morning right now - 50 or so degrees.... will probably get about 80 today !
I have been banned rom discussing wheather on my conference calls with my northeast managers

The 2 year old granddaughter spent the night and was squealing about all the "bwirds" singing !!!

Hurry down and enjoy it !

I know how much of a pain that is. I loaded the 26 ft. moving van I rented 2 weeks ago by myself then unloaded it here in TN just a couple days later. I'm still exausted.

But now I'm finding out that I'm going to have to reload it in June to go to Oklahoma.

Taxes ?

Depends on if your County allows a Homestead exemption...Houston is 8.25% and Montgomery County where I'm at is 7.25%
