yeah we CAN fly our flag as high as the U.S. Flag, but we don't. least I never seen anybody do it.
and yeah you go over seas and people ask where you're from, you say "Texas" and they know where that is. any other state you have to specify "in America"
Hey "KT", come on down! I live about half way between San Antonio & Austin @ Canyon Lake, in the "Hill Country". When you get back down this way, get on-line and give us a "shout". Enjoy and have a great New Year!!
I hope you like hunting, if ya don't you will lol. Our deer aren't no where near as big
as yalls, but we gotta lot of em! Lol That's what A Whole Bunch of us down this way
live for.
I love hunting and fishing!I am getting a little antsy!I have already given away both of my 1tons and my snowmobiles to my buddy. He was tickled pink! Now I have another buddy who is trying to buy my home and my trout farm.As soon as somebody puts the cash in my hand I am outa here like the fat kid in dodgeball!I am really looking forward to it.I have already been to a few Ford dealers and the Lincoln dealers, they took a look at my traing record and my experience and a couple have already offered me a job,so that part will be easy.but as far as my truck collection goes, the ones I saw down there are cleaner than most of mine, except for my 74,it is all new sheet metal,so I am bringing it!I CANT WAIT!
Noooooooooo! DON'T SELL YOUR TRUCKS! You want to sell your trucks and then come to Texas? Most people come to Texas and then start buying trucks. One caveat, rent out your house until you've spent a summer here - tu no sabe caliente? es muy muy caliente. Before you move to San Antonio (a beautiful place to be sure) you gotta check out the hill country, if I could afford it I'd be there tomorrow. Also go down to Victoria and take a look - now that is what Texas is supposed to look like. One more word of caution, if you don't know what your doing DON'T EAT THE CHILI, you can strip paint with that stuff.
very true. If ya get a chance to get some homemade chili, i wouldn't suggest diggin in unless you've had it before. You have to work your way up to Texan level
Yeah Texas is by fart the best place inthe world. I was born here and I always took everything for granted, the more I went away the more I realized how awesome it was. We got our own brand of country music (its awsome, I love it), which beats the crap comin outta Nashville (no offense to yall in Nashville but somewhere along the last 15 or so years yall took a turn towards pop and have been runnin closer and closer). You can go down to Mexico for some crazyness. Man Tx is the place.
Youd like it down here, if you can stand the heat.
oh did I mention Tx women, best in the world, believe me.
EDIT: And the Mexican food is the best I've had anywhere. Yall don't know what mexican food is about till youve been to Texas(or mexico).
Texas is the best i am David.brady's wife and you know there is the saying the most beautiful girls come from texas. There is no place on earth like it I LOVE IT THERE!!!!!!!!!!
i'm more of the small town texan. i took a trip to austin this past weekend and remembered more and more everytime i walked out the hotel door why i like my small town living. the hill country is the best. there's a bit of everything to suit your taste, you got flat plains (my area), some nearly desert, some mountains, some hills (the prettiest i think), some forrest, some beach... i think that covers a bunch of it.
welcome to texas there triton... come check out the tx chapter of fte and get together with some of them guys over around the area you're going to. there's not many around my part of tx and i didn't get to meet the guys when i was down in austin (but i got to rent the brand new 05 f150 4x4 supercab and let me tell ya, it's a goooooooood drive!)
oh yeah, and WOOGS i dont know about where you are, but in this part of tx, we do fly our flag as high as the us flag. the only reason we can, is becuz we were the only state in this entire nation, that was it's own country before joining the us. out of respect for that, we can and do fly our flag just as high as the us flag. becuz it's the only flag other than the us flag that has represented it's own country.
and about that one they missed, #25 Born in Tx... uhm, I know a coupla early life transplants that are just as good as a born in tx texan.... but just a couple so born in tx isn't a requirement really but basically getting here soon enough to think you were 90% of the time right??
and the coke thing applies in west tx, but i heard someone say they say pop in east tx ... ?? and my grammas been in west tx all my life and 99% of hers i think and she says sody pop but she's like 85 or something ... gotta love gramma and the stories. she's the reason i say yonder and people understand me!
it makes me smile to see people that like tx as much as i do. lotsa people around here think i'm a little looney cuz all they think about is cotton and football, but it's all part of tx. *rolling eyes* they just dont get it ... have a good'un everyone
Welcome, KT. You must always remember that Texans are always truthful (there's always some grain of truth in what we say. For instance, do you know that the battleship Texas is so big that the cook uses a submarine in the stew to see if the potatoes are done, or that the birds in Dallas sing so sweet that diabetics have to wear earmuffs? Did you know that The Great Texas Spotted *** Ape is the world's fastest animal, so fast that they can't be seen? Do you know that a ranch is considered small if you can drive across it without refueling. Michigan is a pretty state too, I remember the first time I saw it ..... we had it on display at the Texas State Fair. Come on down!
Dono
i've been around here for a while.. was in levelland when i first found this place. you should drop into the tx chapter if you haven't already. it's good to know there's someone else from lubbock here too cuz it'll be easier to get people together with more people in this area
