What size engine do you have?
If I keep my truck long enough, I may try to stuff a 5 spd from a F-250 behind my current 5.4L.
im definately anti mustang, and to Fbody, the loudmouths are cool, and yes, flowmasters are pretty tame on those cars, especially since they only furnish 80 series flows for them ;-) so true dual is the way to go, but with the ground clearance, its hard to do (but not impossible) a friend of mine has an LS1 with an X pipe running to 2 glasspacks... with 2 cats on it... that thing is so loud its unbelievable.. lol but i do have to give ford the upper hand, in that its motors are always louder than chevys, or at least, in my opinion, they sound better with less work done... and its because fords come with true exhaust straight from the factory... none of the crap chevy gives you with a low profile car, and absolutely no room to work with underneath.... so like my friend, if you want to put a decent exhaust under your car, you can rule out some of the local speed bumps, and i would be pretty careful of which driveways you roll up lol his has dumps right before the rear axle, and it still scrapes lol
Good thing they don't still make camaros, huh?
History of ford Vs Chevy
1964 mustang makes its debut
1967 camaro makes its debut
in 1970 both mustang and camaro regain a totally new bodystyle for the new decade, but of course, the Z28 overpowers the GT, and even the Boss 302..
various changes in the 70s led mustang to some of its crappiest designs, whereas the camaro held its most tired design from 74 - 77, and in 78 the camaro was redesigned to be more agressive once more... ford is still suffering from design flaws at this time.... its basically a pinto on steroids..
it wasnt until 79 that the mustang adopted the "foxbody style" at which time the camaro had already smashed the market with its vaccuum controlled cowl induction in the Z28 models, and ford if you ask me, had still screwed off the design of its so called "sports car"
in 82, the camaro came out with the 3rd gen... and mustang was still sporting the plain, and all but trendy body style of the foxbody... no new changes... just slight mods, and the notchback from this era is still considered to be the fastest of 5.0s if the right motor is being used, but face it... in 82, ford just didnt have it goin on just yet... but neither did chevy with its 170HP 305... but hey, smog was a big issue at that time, and reality is that everyone had problems because of it...
Ford didnt redesign its 70s style body until 1987, when it adopted the newer foxbody style we have all come to love, but camaro is still the leading production sports car for mid range pricing
in 1992, the final 3rd gen camaro was made, with a heritage package to mark its honorable 25 years of service, and in 1993 it redesigned itself to fit the new and all so powerful 5.7L LT1... ford still had its foxbody, so now its time to tag along...
in 1994 the mustang adopted a new body style, rounder, more sleek, but still slower than the Z28 of its year... but of course, it was crapping on all the competition pre-1993, including its pony predecessors...
and in 1997 when we marked our 30th anniversary LT1, the mustang had one small body change, as well as a new motor... but still the same car running the same basic stats.. and if you wanted to get a car with any real ***** to it you had to spring for the Cobra... which would have cost you a very pretty penny back then... and even still, its no match for a camaro Z28.. stock for stock anyways

in 1998, chevy adopted the 5.7L 346 LS1 motor, and a redesigned body... ford then played catch up once more to produce the newer "retro" '67 look... in 1999 that is now outdone by its REALLY retro'd 1969 look...
so aside from the post 1982 rush, where ford had to play games with chevy, and replace its arsenal shortly after we did just to keep up with the market, the mustangs had a much rougher start... the original 289 was a good motor, but produced no real ponies (no pun intended) unlike its competition like the SS yenko, and berger models.... in the 70s, chevrolet had 1 style that was slightly remolded over the course of about 8 years... and about 3 different minor design refabrications... where as the mustang had about 5 or 6... and all of which made the mustang out to be more of a crappy college student commuter more than the beefy muscle car it was produced to be...
in my opinion? Chevy made corvette... corvette took the market and just smashed all the stood in its way... the mustang was a joke that ford thought up to rival the corvette as a sports car for the general public... so we laughed at that and threw the camaro at the world... a better built car with more options and much higher factory HP than the mustang, for less than a standard GT.... so if you ask me, camaro has been slappin mustang since the late 60s.... they just figured it was time to give it a rest
but wait.... is that a 5th gen camaro i see in the distance? oh my freaking god! it IS! just sit back, relax... and prepare to be eaten alive

I bought it becuase I wanted one, not because I wanted to race it. I guess this would mean that the guy showing off his new camaro would get the ticket, not me.....and that doesn't bother me a bit.
