I've had the same problem since new in June '04. Engine chugs then dies at idle, surges thru takeoff and surges at constant speeds of 40 - 60 mph. It's at the dealer now for the 4th time. Thus far, EFT valve has been replaced. Engine and transmission sensors have been reset/replaced. Loose connections have been restored. This time, the engine wiring harness is being replaced. Through the first 9900 miles, this 6.0 has been a huge pain although when it's not surging or stalling, it runs and pulls great.

I had the exact symptoms described in the first post. Truck had reflash done with no change in symptoms. I solved mine by lowering the oil level to just above the minimum mark. That was 6 months ago and to date I have not had the problem reoccur...knock on wood!
