Whining noise
When my truck is in gear and i give it gas i hear a whining noise which appears to come from the clutch. I have been told it is a throwout bearing or something of the sort. Anyone know if this is true and if so how hard it would be to fix this for myself. Any comments will help. Thanks.

Whining noise
The throwout bearing usually only makes noise when you push on the clutch pedal, since it doesn't do anything otherwise. Unless it's out of adjustment, which would make it run against the clutch fingers all the time.

Whining noise
Stock 81 F150, 4 speed with granny gear. The noise is loudest at about 5500 rpms in 4th. Also audible beginning around 3500 to 4000 in 2nd 3rd and 4th. Noise apears to come from somewhere near the clutch pedal. Any help would be great. Also the noise does not affect the functioning of the truck at all, such as speed, hp etc.
