I have dual tanks. I want to get rid of the front tank. Heres my question. Can i use rubber gas line in place of the factory lines or is there too much pressure bieng EFI?
Being efi you will have about 40 psi of fuel pressure. You will need to stay with the duck bill fuel clips. 40 psi is a little to much for hose clamps.
so where do I get new fuel lines? Im new to EFI so this "pressure " thing has me rattled. Ive had local guys tell me that if I flare the ends and use 2 clamps that it will work.
You can get the new fuel lines at your local national Chain parts store in the help section. We have a national chain called Advance auto parts and I can purchase both sizes there for $18.88 a piece. They come with a connecter to the fuel pump assembly along with the duck bill clip and the repair sleeve for the splice. This is the only place I've found to buy the connecter to the fuel pump assembly because Ford doesn't carry them anymore. You can buy just the duck bill clips for both sizes in the help section also.
Those links just brought up the home page not the part, My brother replaced his gas lines on a 92 chrysler imperial and it worked great. What if i flared the ends?
Reason is I have about 75 feet of brand new heavy duty deisel grade 5/16 hose out in the shed. cheap and easy

Reason: for got something
Go to Advance's web site and place the numbers in the white search box on the top left of the shopping page and you will be sent there. These items are in the Connectors and Retaining clips section.
sorry dude The 1st one brought up a head lamp and the others bring up an alternator and no parts found. I checked those [arts out earlier anyway. I forgot to mention also that On my 89 chevy i ran rubber gas line and that was fuel injected.
You can try to use numerous clamps but I would use the fittings that are for pressure lines because they will work so much better and You will not have to worry about pressure problems and leaks.
Why dont you just cap off the fuel tank selector valve where the tank you want to remove connects and you could then use it again at a later time or just place in a splice were the tank selector valve is.
lmao are you swearing at me behind that there computer screen??!! Sorry man Im on pain killers for a broken toe. I guess i could do that. The truck is getting a step side box and I think i can only use one tank. but I have a problem with the rear tank pushing gas into the front one so now its pressurized. So i figured I might as well get rid of one tank and be done with it. But I could what your suggesting and that would work.
That way no matter what you did, You could reverse your modification at a later date without hacking your fuel lines up and go back to 2 tanks. I hope your toe gets to feeling better and I'll talk to you again, Thank You.
