c6 tranmission

Can i put a C6 trnsmission from a thunderbird car in a f 150 351 m 4x4
or is there a difference in these. The f150 had C6 but needs repair and i can get the C6 from the thunderbird cheap.

rebuild kit for a c6 is only $55 to $75 dollars. No, the one from the t-bird won't fit, unless it has a 460. You could transfer the internals from the t-bird tranny to your case, but then, why not just rebuild yours?

You have to swap the output shaft and the transfer case adapter to the car tranny. I have never done that before, but I don't think it's as easy as it sounds.

Sorry I missed the 4x4 part earlier- all the internals will have to come out to swap tailshafts. So, back to the rebuild option?

WE have a video tape for a re-building a C6.
