Hey Guy's , Installing a magnum remote starter on my 01 PSD. Having some trouble getting the tach mode to work. Does anyone know what colour the tach wire under the dash is and where I might be able to tap into it?
Thanks Alot, Pat.
I'm not sure about the 2001, but the 2002 has a customer access wire next to the emergency brake, green with white stripe. Its a (CTO) clean tach output. Thats what I used for my remote start.
You need to tap into the wiring at the CMP sensor to get an rpm signal.
is this just for the older body styles or is there a wire under the dash like JNygard said.

I have a 97 and a 93 and was wonder the same wher can I get a tach signal, just the CPS or is there a wire under the dash.
On the 2001, the tach wire is white with red stripe. It's not in the wires that go into the steering column (there is a white with red stripe there too, but it isn't the tach). There's another harness up in there that goes to the instrument cluster, and it's in there.
bulldogsecurity has this info on there web site.
I went to the main harness on the firewall. And I pretty much destroyed the cute black plastice cover on it. But a little tape and it dose not bother me. http://bulldogsecurity.com/New%20Wir...rduty99-01.htm
