I Hate Compaq!!!!!!!
Okay everyone - my computer is gone - dead - kapuut! I can only go into safe mode no matter what I do to it. Next thing I may try is a HAMMER!
Anyhow I'm using a friends computer to post this & will TRY to get my Dad's computer this weekend if I can make it to my Mom's. The 4WD is out in the truck - might be a 1/2 shaft I was told. Hey - when it rains, it RAINS when it comes to my life!
Anyhow, I'll let everyone know what's going on when I can get computer access. Talk to y'all soon!

Hi Cowlady,
I'd be willing to troubleshoot your computer. Odds are if it runs in safemode then its only a software issue. Possibly virus or spyware and I've done plenty of those recently.
Another, quicker fix, would be to backup your really important files and just reinstall using the compaq restore cd (assuming you still have it <grin>)

I'd go with Popa Tom's suggestion, that way the computer is nice and fresh. All those programs that you install and use three times and then forget about add up and slow things down. Have you added any new hardware in the last three months? We had fun here at work for a while when people installed Logitech wireless mice and Windows would refuse to load.
