warning lights not working

warning lights not working
I have a 71 f100 im working on now and my warning lights arent working. they were working at one time, but now they dont come on when i turn the key on. everything seems to be hooked up right. what should i check? I changed the engine but everything is hooked back up like it should be, and im pretty sure i have the proper sending units.

Many times when warning lights/blinkers/taillights go on the blink it's due to the turn signal switch. They wear out and cause all kinds of intermittent problems. If yours isn't intermittent then get a wiring diagram. These trucks are pretty simply wired.

i don't think its an intermitent problem, i probably have something wired wrong.... does anyone know where i can get a diagram of how the amp light and oil light are wired up?

Idealtrucks, I've seen the gauges act up if the ground from the engine to cab ground is disconnected, corroded, dirty, or broken. With having done an engine change it would be worth checking. This wire usually runs from the intake to firewall.

I have the complete wiring diagram (2 pages) for my 72. They're probably the same. You'll have to send me your address and I'll gladly send you a copy. You'll have it in 2-3 days. I've sent 3-4 folks the same diagram.
