pre 99.5 question

Friends of this great site, I have decided that after all the work i put into my 89 150 302, That I am going to put it away for a couple of decades, and buy a psd. I love them, and they are calling me. I have decided that I am sick of working on old trucks, fixing petty rust problems, and I need new. I am looking for a 99-03 250-350 cc long box 4x4 and of course psd. However, I got wind that pre 99.5 were bad. Or something was different. Can anybody tell me if there was any difference in the pre 99.5 of that year? I know ford dinked with 98 and they are out of the question. But I am going to spend some hard earned money here, and am going to get something good. So any info would be great. Thankyou All
Timothy

The early 99s are different but definately not bad. I might be a little partial, I love my early 99. There are a few guys on here that will tell you the early 99s are the best. The differences, well I know I'll miss something but here goes: smaller injectors, smaller intake, different turbo, different airbox, lower capacity HPOP. I am sure there are more but thats all I can remember right now.
