hello friends
as the OD light was not working also i pulled the steering column and found the OD switch light wire broke at where it goes into the handle. now have overdrive
will pull fuses tomorrow and check them. It kinda seems wierd that i had started have the tranny problems about the same time the switch went out. maybe the wire broke and shorted a fuse.
later and thanks for the other thread on how to remove the column and handle
Michael
Something you might want to try is either disconnnect both batteries or remove the ECM fuse for a couple of minutes. This will reset the computer and clear any codes. It will take a few days for the computer re-adjust engine and transmission strategy based on your driving habits.

hello friends Will clearing the codes with the programmer do this? or do i need to do above also?
thanks
Michael
That code reader might do it but just for giggles do the battery thing disconnect both battery grounds for 10-15 minutes and reconnect. Also, check and see if there is any moisture in the connector to the MLP/TR sensor on the drivers side of the trans behind the shift lever. if there is you will need to replace the sensor and blow out the moisture in the connector and put some dielectric grease in it to seal out any more moisture.
