Stingray bicycles. Orange Crates and Lemon Peelers by Schwin.
Model car glue that actually worked and kids could buy it.
Church Keys.
Hunting pop bottles in the ditches as the only way to get money.
Mowing 2 acres of grass for $3 a month.
Not having a TV or a radio in the house.
Asking to turn the radio on when one was given to us. (Okay, but only for a half hour)
The radio was as tall as I was.
Comic books were 12 cents.
Bazooka bubble gum. The inside of the wrapper was a mini comic strip about a GI, I think. Bazzoka Joe? How do you spell bazuka?
Two sets of clothes. New clothes for school. Last years clothes for after school and you had BY-GAWD-better-change when you got home from school.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I liked putting together sailing ship models and airplanes....my dad was a Navy AEC CPO. Yes, the airplane Glue DID work back and for 10 or 15 cents you could buy it as a kid.
Anyone remember the old "Famous Monsters of Filmland" mags by Forrest ("Forry") Ackerman?
My sister played with the new Barbie Dolls/Ken while I played "war" with the original G.I.Joes. Still have them including the "German Soldier". Used to watch all those Quinn Martin shows "Combat" and "12 O'Clock High". "Rat Patrol" and other shows like them. Was a tomboy when young.
Leonard Bernstein's "Young People's Concerts". Of course, the original "Star Trek". "Lost in Space", "The Invaders", "Outer Limits"
Skateboards when they were simply wood and painted red. The wheels looked like regular skatewheels. For that matter, regular skates with the shoe clamps you tightened with a key.

How 'bout:
Sinclair gas (In 1971, coming home from my grandmom's funeral, we drove through Greeneville, Tenn., and Dad had just filled up the tank at an Esso station, we then drove through town and a Gas War!!!) Last station in town (A Sinclair) had gas for 1.9¢!!! Dad says, "Dad-burn it. Just my luck, I gas up and then drive through a dern gas war!"
(He was angry 'cause he had to pay 21.9¢ per gal.!!!)
The car. . . 1967 Pontiac Catalina 2+2 w/ a 428. Torque out the ying-yang!
(I later remember churning the back tires off and having to go to 'Goodyear' and buy two "Custom Power Cushion - Polyglass" J78-14s to replace 'em BEFORE I went home!) Boy. . . I was dumb! That was two weeks pay @ $1.10 an hour. The guy putting the tires on laughed, 'cause he peeled the rubber out of the fender wells. (Oh yeah. . . It was REAL funny.)
Blue Circle hamburgers (a penny apiece)
White Castle hamburgers ("Buy 'em by the bag")
"The Gloden Arches" That's right. . . Mickey D's.

Steve McQueen and his "Mares Leg"
Boones Farm - Apple

Superman comics (I had a #2 that got 'pitched out' when we moved. I wonder what that would be worth, now? I could probably put all of my kids through college with that, and buy a new house!)
1967 Plymouth GTX
1963 Ford Galaxie 500XL (Red. Gotta be RED!) Hot!!!
1962 Corvette
Waiting for 'word' that your (fill in family member's name) was coming home from Viet Nam.) Heck, countin' the days until YOU LEAVE Viet Nam!
