anybody use a netgear pcmcia wireless card, 802.11g, (wg511) on any network other than a netgear router. i have an all linksys setup and need a new pcmcia card, well i found one on ebay cheap and was wondering if anybody has had any problems with interoperability.
Don't know much about netgear. I have a D-link system and my dad has linksys. I have no problems connecting up to his. As long as both systems are 802.11g you shouldn't have any problems connecting.

like he said it should work if it is 802.11g make sure you have all the security stuff in order MAC address, WEP, etc.
i have the netgear card on my laptop. i have a motorola wireless router, i didnt have one bit of a pain setting it up. it works well when i am traveling too, sees all and hooks up without a fuss. is your home network safe? , cause i cant tell you how many times i have logged onto other peoples networks going down the road. hell sometimes i stop to check my email. lol
I'm using an all linksys system right now, the configuration programming the router leaves something to be desired, but it's not bad.. The house has too much interference for the wireless to work well, so we went wired, but I was happy.
thanks for all the replies. that is kinda what i figured, but i thought that i heard a while back that there was some heartache between different brands of routers and cards.
All the different brands will work together. They are all part of the wireless standard, 802.11. The G devices are backwards compatible with B devices, so you can run the slower old hardware on the new networks.
