hey guys i just got a new cd player 4 my car for christmas and so i decided to go all out, i got 6 1/2 speakers for fronts and new 6x9's for my rears and i had a few amps that some friends gave me. the amps are, a 60w blaunkput, 100w roadmaster (total junk) 250wjbl, and a 300w jensen. well i picked up 2-200w 6"subs for a little bass (cheap too). well i route each individual wire, ground (from the drivers seat) batt, and remote. well i go to hook up the 300w and all it does is blow the fuse, now it had a 30w fuse in it which is more than enough. but basically it seems like theres a + and a - crossed in the amp, so i took out the board and checked everything down and made sure nothing was crossed...still doing it. so i tried the 250w, no problems sparking problems there but its not working (so i think ill trash it) now my 100w, i get the wires hooked up and since it doesnt have a fuse the ground wire melts and almost burns my finger off. now ive tracked down each wire and made sure theres no cuts or anything in it, and i even got a new set just in case. well it still does it, even on the 60w. would anyone know what could be doing this? thanks
How did you hook it up? Im willing to bet that you've got a bad ground, or you've got bare wires on the ends of the cables. It's also possible that ALL the amps are junk.
Are you talking about the fuses in the amps themselves? Your Power Wire should have a fuse as well right when it comes off the Battery. Make sure that the speaker wires are not touching each other or any other wire for that matter. You said you ran Battery wire (+12v), Ground, and Remote....Did you run the RCA's to the amps? Maybe your power wire is cut or stripped somewhere and touching metal? Or like pfogle said, it is possible that all those amps are junk.
