Just a question. In the manual it states when the Reverse sensors are turned off they will stay off until turned back on or the ignition switch is cycled. Mine come back on anytime you move the shifter out of park, which gets annoying when backing on occaision. I brought it up to the service dept and they stated it is normal. Last we or so I read a post where someone had it fixed, I did a search to no avail. Does anyone have any insight? I'm sure it is just a change in the programming.
As I understand it, years 99-04 reset everytime you shift into reverse, my 01 does this. Is there a chance you have an 05 manual, but an 04 truck? The 05 trucks reset with every ignition key cycle like your manual says.
Rumor was that the latest reflash for the older 6.0 trucks would allow the tech, if he knew what he was doing, to go in there and set the behavior you're looking for (OFF MEANS OFF, until the key is cycled.)

Its not a rumor, I had mine done and it works great! The dealer tried to charge me $42 for the reprograming, but I pointed out to the service writer that a charge for performing this was never discussed when I had the ticket written up. They agreed to waive the fee since it wasn't authorized. If you do a search on this forum, or the 6.0 forum (I don't remember which) there is a step-by-step procedure for them to follow.
