however, if you read the fine print; if you have a drop bumper, they measure it from the ground to the frame.
let me know if you can get away with it though
you could fight that because a semi trailer frame is higher than 30 inches but the ICC bumper brings it down, and that is legal in all 50 states, canada, and mexico
I have a state inspection license & live in pa. There is no mention of headlight height limit in the manual, bumpers 30" rear, 28" front, measured from the bottom of the bumper. There have been no updates sent to the shop concerning bumpers or lights.
actually mark the headlight height restriction is under federal law, and my not be in your book unless the state has adopted it into there law the requirement is under fmvss #108, what I was unable to determine for sure was wether it is just for new vehicles, or any vehicles on the road but it has been in affect since 1968
section 5 - ii is not in our shop manual. either way I'll always have a sticker.
Bremen, we should get together sometime. Have you ever been up to Conneaut lake ? I'm 4 miles away.
You guys live right around where I'm moving in a few months, White Oak. I was curious if my truck would pass inspection out there so I'll have to get the tape out and start measuring.
How picky is the inspection process out there? We don't have anything like that in AZ. I bought my truck new in 2000 and still haven't even had to take it to get the emissions checked on it. All the state wants is my money, they could care less about anything else.
PA bites worse than WA. I suggest you try moving your home rather than your bumper. I still think you're safer with a high bumper so people just bounce off your tires instead of getting smashed on your bumper.
Fishmann, that would be great! I put you on my buddylist so I don't forget. I will commit to fun as soon as I finish fixing my truck up. I need a new front end, I discovered two of my mini-kin pin caps are broken and it looks like they do not sell them on JB Graveyard. I soon see a 9" or Dana 60 in my front end future.

Thanks for the encouragement, I hope it (the f250) will be fine. I know it won't fit in though, that's for sure. ha ha
Yeah, there's a ton of traffic there but hopefully I won't be living there too long. Need to save up some cash to move further outside of town. Anyways, thanks for the reply, appreciate it.
