Gator-Grip Socket

I've used the gator grip socket, my stepfather gave me one last year. They are ok for occasional use, but the little spring actuated rods inside the socket begin to fail under the strain of heavy use. I still always keep mine in my truck, as it comes in handy every now and again. Hope this helps.

Well if you plan on using one for engine work dont waste your coin. My gator socket's splines got trashed very quickly just using it around the house. I'd reccomend one if your big on pick-N-pull yards or taking body panels/fenders and such off but other then that Crapsmen assortments are cheap enough.

Interesting, I was going to ask about the Gator Grip, too. Got one for Christmas. I'll have to keep in mind it's more for occasional use. It'll be my emergency socket. I was wondering myself how well the pins hold up in it, I figured it wasn't a top-of-the-line invention.
