I took a tape measure and measured from the center of one of my studs to the center of the opposite stud to check mine. I just did it the other day when I was looking for wheels to put on it. I just got my 51 about a month ago and it actually has a rear end out of a Galaxy 500 I think. My rear lug pattern is 5 on 4 1/2 and the front end which is still original has a 5 on 5 1/2 lug pattern. The motor was replaced with a 390 out of a 63 or 64 Galaxy 500 so I am assuming they put the rear end out of that car in the truck then.

Ford has never made anything with a 4 3/4 pattern. The pattern on the 74 Lincoln should be either 5 on 5 or 5 on 4.5. I think 61-73 Lincoln was 5 on 5, not sure about 74.

For an uneven number of studs, measure from the center of one, skip one, and then to the outside of the next one...as I remember. It's been awhile..

4, 6, and other even lug patterns are easy - just measure between the centers of two lugs opposite each other. I found this quick and easy way to handle 5-lug patterns. There are similar simple formulas for other odd-lug patterns.

If your going to purchase the disc conversion, they are usually available in various lug sizes. You have a couple of options. Since the rear is original 5X 5.5 lugs, you can purchase the front disc with the same (so rims are interchangable). You can also change out the rear axles or have them redrilled (expensive) to match the lug pattern on the front. To measure the lugs, I make a mark on the center of the lug. Then measure from the lug to the opposite lug from center of lug to the other center. Hope this helps.
