On a duraspark you can bypass the ignition switch and the resistor by running a wire to the positive of the coil. The coil+ and the module power are connected in the harness. Try checking for spark at the coil wire by turning the ignition on and then off without turning over the starter. If you get a spark every time the coil and module are OK. Also check the ground inside the dist. The black wire in the 3 terminal connector grounds the coil - thru the module. It is attached to the dist. body with a screw by the strain relief inside. If the dist is not grounding to the block you will get either no spark or poor spark. Had this happen once, was very hard to find. Try a jumper from the dist. to the battery neg....Don
