Conversion 4x2 to 4x4

I was given a rotted out 95 f150 4x4. I have owned a '96 4x2 and always wanted to make it 4x4. Can anyone foresee any issues I might face pulling the front diff and additional components from the 95 to the 96 to make mine 4x4.
thanks

There's an article in the tech articles about the swap, you might want to take a look at it.

I also have a 94 F-150 4x2 and was thinking of doing the same thing to mine. I read the tech artical and it sounds easy enough using components from a similar year truck. What I was thinking of doing was to use a T-18/NP-208 combo from an earlier truck and a solid Dana 44 from a 79 or earlier F-150. Anyone ever try it? Would there be enough clearance for a straight axle?
Thanks
L.F.

I think the pre 80 frames are narrower than the newer trucks, so you would have to re-weld the perches into the right place. I'm sure the straight axle would clear, but you would need a torch and welder.
