Yo.. Tampa.. as has been noted.. the STOCK d/p for the 6.0's is only 3" granted, its a lot better than the old strokers with the crimped flange d/p, but going to an aftermarket d/p will net at least a 3.5" d/p that alone will allow more cooled air to exit faster from the get-go...thus bettering performance by what?? at least a good seat of the pants , who-knows real #'s? I wish there was a dyno close to me. The install was worth it. Not too bad of a hassle. and I'm not a mechanic by any stretch, heck I rarely have the right tools.

where are you listening to these sound clips? I'm interested in the MBRP "cool duals" for my 05 PS. Anyone ever heard how loud this system is?

Thanks, 1BDTRK, for the information. I guess I should stick with my original plans and go with the turbo-back. I'd probably always wonder "what could have been" if I don't....

As for the videos- I realize and respect that Motorhaven provides this great forum for us all to chat about our trucks, so please understand I will not post a link to the videos. This is because they are posted on other retailer's websites. Just do a search for MBRP exhaust on the net. I've seen the videos on several different sites.

Hey KT, if you want loud, your not going to get it with the cool duals.. I have the system and it sounds KILLER as its starting up, but other than that its not much above stock. I am also dissappointed that my cool dual system is having to stay a single tailpipe with turndown on the 2nd outlet because the over the axle pipe for Drivers side won't fit and hang between the rear end and my B& W turnover ball hitch... so beware.

I would like to see dyno tests on all the different setups. My bet is none of them make a bit of difference in power or EGT,s. I wouldnt mind a little throatier exhaust on mine. But after my last truck the only thing I noticed improved it was the turbo down pipe made it feel stronger. I think Ford did a lot of homework on the 04 up exhaust and I bet a dyno will prove most are just add ons to be cool more than anything.
I think I am going to save my money and buy a predator and leave it alone. It runs fabulous stock gets 20-22 mpg on highway 16-18 around town. My wife's V-6 Explorer gets same mileage.

I tend to agree with mrcobra, and would be interested in some dyno results as well. So far, prerformance increases seem like a lot of "tribal lore" when it comes to exhaust modifications.

Where's Choctaw Bob at? I think I remember reading about his numerous dyno runs after each of his mods, including exhaust. Maybe he could give you guys what you need.

I have a dyno shop about 10 miles from my house, which a few friends run, and I plan on doing exhaust sometime Jan/Feb timeframe. I will get some dyno numbers, before and after, for the 05 model. I will post the results here once I have them.

MBRP Duals will work with a gooseneck

You can install MBRP duals with whatever gooseneck hitch you have without denting the pipes in and here is how to do it. Everything lines up fine except the famous pipe coming out of the Y going over the rear end and hitting your hitch. Ok, here is what you have to do. On the pipe coming out of the lower Y going up over the axle, as soon as it comes out of the Y and curves up it has a straight section about about a foot long. You need to remove 2 inches from that and put the pipe back together. You then need to clock the Y at 12 o clock and 6 o clock not at 11:30 and 5:30 like the directions instruct. I got mine to fit without denting the pipe. I also bought the kitty kat by by pipe and made my own muffler eliminator pipe . I have a 4 mega pixel camera I can take pics with if you guys want to see how to do this.

PS

I have a video clip with sound that shows a black stroker (not mine) taking off with MRBP duals with the muffler they provide and the kitty kat by by pipe if anyone is interested. It has a superchips on it too. PM with your e-mail

I, for one, would really enjoy seeing that dyno information. Please share when you get it!

I'm not looking for loud, just a good tone and hopfully a better spool up time. I'm not planning on getting a 5th wheel, so thats not a problem.
