egr ???

this should be a good question for the tech guys. my 01 screw 5.4 works great. i just really don't like the whole egr system. if there was a way to get rid of it and still maintain a code free run that would be good. so heres what i'm after. i want to plug the exhaust tubes to the intake. the iac will still work but i'm guessing that i will need resistors for the air flow sensor and/or the O2 sensors. has anyone done this? the idea of putting untreated exhaust to be reburned directly in the intake defeats the power process but i understand that it helps the exhaust gasses.

Yes you can the race car guys do it alot, Ford sells plates and plugs for the intake and manifolds. But you will need a tune to your computer to turn off the EGR or you will get a check engine light.

You can turn off the EGR with a Diablosport Predator Programmer which is available at our online store Motorhaven.
The EGR lets burnt gasses reenter the incoming air/fuel charge. This cools the combustion temps which reduces part throttle detonation. It only works at part throttle and really has no effect on WOT performance.
