I have a 1994 Ranger 3.0. I have worked on different rangers for years and never seen this. I had to replace a worn out pilot bushing and resurfaced the flywheel, replaced the clutch, Pressure plate, throw out bearing, reassembled , bled the system and No Clutch pedal!. I have now replaced the slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder and re-bled...nothing! I pulled it all back down and compaired all tolerences with old part, no problem. Any suggestions or ideas anyone? I'm stumped, and sick of pulling that transmission! Jim

replace my clutch . Can you give me an idea of the difficulty in doing so? What is the process to drop the
transmission? Do I need an alignment tool for the clutch plates? Do you have a good source for instructions?
Had this problem with my 96 Ranger. Only thing that remedied it was to bleed the clutch master cylinder on the bench, with the cylinder itself facing up, plunger down. This is kinda tricky, because you have to press on the ball at the end of the tube while pressing down on the cylinder, allowing the shaft to go up into the cylinder, and hold the reservior up at the same time. You could probably build a jig to hold all of the stationary stuff and free up some hands or get someone to help you out. What this apparently does, is to bleed out the air that is trapped when the master cylinder is in its normall mounted position that I tried every imaginable way, even those methods outlined in Haynes/Chilton, to bleed out. My original mistake was to allow the reservior to go dry while bleeding the slave cylinder using the usual methods, thus allowing air to enter the system.
