I'm trying to find a rim that's fairly strong and looks ok. I like the street lock(fake beadlock) us wheel in black! Does anyone run these wheels or and steel us wheel? One more Question? Does one inch make a difference on caliper clearance? There going on a 1986 f250 4x4? Why would they sell a 8 lug 6.5 stud pattern if the wheel won't fit (15" wheels instead of the stock 16") Sorry this thread is so long, but i'm stuck here in Iraq and you guys are the most knowledgable I've ever come across! Thanks for the time fella!!
Here's some trivia for you guys.....not really off topic, either.
15" wheels with 8 on 6.5" fit drum brakes all the way around on old 3/4 ton Fords.
15" wheels with 8 on 6.5" fit the REAR of 3/4-1 ton Fords with front disks.
15" wheels will NOT fit on rear drums on a 94 and up Dodge 3/4 tons...and DON'T grind off the heat-dissipating fins on the drums to make them fit, either!! (Don't ask ) They do fit on the front of 94-98's though....
15" wheels don't like to clear Ford front calipers on 3/4-1 tons. It can be done, but at the discretion of the owner and how much material he feels like getting rid of to make the wheels fit.
But really, for trail usage, lots of folks prefer 15 inch wheels due to tire availability and because 15s have a great bead and safety bead. 16.5s are not so good because the tire will fall off the rim if you look at it wrong, and for a long time, the only way to get really big tires was to go with the 16.5s or the 15s........Now with the increasing availability of the 16 inch and 17 inch wheels (that also have good tire holding beads), the 16.5 is becoming obsolete.

I used 15x10"US wheels on my 76 3/4 ton conversion and they were terrific wheels. They were plenty thick and on more than one occasion had 3000 lbs. on the rear.... Don't have any experience with the 'street locks' though.
cleatus the street lock are just imatation beadlocks there just for looks. the wheels are just daytona us wheels with a ring around the outer edge for looks
wheels with a ring around the outer edge for looks
Yeah, just like my Weld Stonecrushers...
The US Wheels I had were the plain old white spokes (I LOVE THEM!!)
I guess after re-reading your first post....
No, 15 inch wheels will NOT fit your front axle brakes without major grinding of the calipers (becomes s afety issue). 1/2" radius is a lot on the front of a Ford.
i had a set of 15x10 black steel wheels (AR767) from American Racing and I fell in love with them. they were strong as all get out and really made my truck look clean. the smallest rim to fit your truckl will be 16" anything less and you will have to swap out calipers or grind them down (not a great idea for a street truck)
I've run the steel us wheels before, and never had any problems with them. I'm no expert on the new stuff, but you'd probably have to grind your calipers with the 15"s. You do have more clearance with steel rims than alum though. If your wheels are already 16"s I'd just stick with that rim size. They have the safety bead same as the 15"s.
